Solving Crimes with Thomas

Jack adjusted his tie, glancing at his reflection in the mirror. His hat and coat waited by the door, his revolver already secured in its holster. It was a routine he knew by heart, but today felt different. He wasn’t going at this alone.

This time he had his wonderful, skilled husband by his side. He was confident they could solve the case together.

"Are you ready, Special Constable Barrow?" Jack smirked.

Thomas came down the stairs, not quite dressed the same as Jack. But very similar, except he didn't carry a gun. He didn't really ever want to. He had Jack to protect him with his if that need arose. He hoped that it wouldn't.

"Do I at least look the part?" He asked as he got to the bottom of their stairs.

Jack would make sure Thomas never needed a gun. He'd take care of that side of things.

"You look perfect," Jack replied. "Handsome, too." He did quite like seeing his husband dressed like a detective.

"Well I am trying to look like the most handsome detective I know." Thomas reached to put a hand on Jack's chest.

He loved that they were all dressed up to do this. He moved to touch Jack's tie.

Jack smiled at his husband, leaning in for a kiss.

"I truly am so thankful to have your help, darling." Thomas had a keen eye for things, picking up details that Jack often missed.

"Thank you for giving me the chance to." He adjusted Jack's tie a little. Not that it really needed it but Thomas felt a little calmer doing it. A few nerves were he hoped to be expected from his as he accompanied his husband.

"I love you." He said quietly.

"Of course. I trust you more than some of my colleagues. You have a special sense."

Jack smiled, placing a calming hand on top of Thomas’s, letting him know everything would be okay.

"I love you too. With all my heart."

"Ah you mean how picky I can be." He could at least poke a little fun at himself knowing how he could be particularly about things.

Thomas looked at Jack, that hopelessly said how much he loved him without uttering a word. He may have blushed a little too but he'd not admit to that.
