"There is soup left. I had the last of the sandwiches for lunch because it was easier than traipsing dirt through from the garden. But I can make some more." Thomas had sat in the garden eating them in the sunshine between assaults on the insects.

He watched Jack with appreciation as he walked across the room. Feeling the loss of being held. He sat up and moved to fetch fresh underwear from the drawer as the only thing he put on. Thankful once more this was his home with only Jack and a warmer climate than England to allow him to do that.

He added pickle to the bits that he should pick up for them.

"I'll be downstairs." He called to Jack as he went to make more sandwiches and set the soup to warm.
